How the Troop is Organized

Similar to many Scouting America programs our Troops are youth-led. There is the Senior Patrol Leader and the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader who are the 2 main youth leaders of the troop.

Every scout also belongs to a smaller group of 5-8 members within the Troop called a Patrol. All Patrol names are chosen by the scouts.

Every 6 months, each Patrol elects a scout to serve as Patrol Leader. Each Patrol has a patrol patch for your uniform, a patrol cheer, and have a patrol flag.

When the Troop meets on Wednesdays, we break-up into Patrols to work on rank and skills.

Leadership

  • Is the head scout who runs the Troop (with the assistance of Adult Leadership). Usually an experienced Scout who has already earned the First Class rank.

  • Selected by the Senior Patrol Leader, to assist with planning activities at the meetings and on camping trips.

  • Patrol Leaders are elected by their Patrol. They work wit the SPL and the ASPL to plan campouts, hikes, and other activities.

  • This is a group of scouts appointed by the SPL for more specialized roles including Quartermaster (manages all of the Troop’s supplies and inventory), Historian (records memorable events of the Troop’s history), Chaplain (leads the Troop in prayer at meetings and camping trips) and Librarian (keeps track of Troop Merit badge books that are borrowed).

    As a LINKED Troop we share our Adult Leaders and Committee Members. This allows us to fully support both the Girl and Boy Troop.
